Bramley Apple and Rhubarb Crumble Recipe

Ingredients

WE HAVE JUMBO, LOCAL BRAMLEY APPLES ARE IN STOCK NOW! BY THE BAG OR LOOSE! WE ALSO HAVE THE FIRST OF THE NEW SEASON YORKSHIRE RHUBARB AVAILABLE!

INGREDIENTS:

450G RHUBARB

350G BRAMLEY APPLES

1 TSP VANILLA EXTRACT

120g GOLDEN CASTER SUGAR

200g PLAIN FLOUR

1 TSP GROUND GINGER

100g COLD SALTED BUTTER

70g LIGHT SOFT BROWN SUGAR

Method

HEAT THE OVEN TO 200C/180 FAN/GAS 6.

TOSS THE DICED RHUBARB, APPLE, VANILLA, AND GOLDEN CASTER SUGAR TOGETHER IN AN OVEN PROOF

DISH AND ROAST FOR TEN MINUTES.

  1. MIX THE FLOUR AND GINGER TOGETHER IN A LARGE BOWL. RUB IN THE BUTTER TO CREATE A CHUNKY BREADCRUMB TEXTURED MIXTURE.
  2. STIR THE BROWN SUGAR THROUGH THE FLOUR MIXTURE.

5. SPRINKLE THE CRUMBLE TOPPING ON THE FRUIT, AND COOK FOR A FURTHER 30 TO 25 MINUTES, OR UNTIL THE TOPPING IS GOLDEN BROWN

SERVE WITH CUSTARD OR ICE CREAM, AND ENJOY!

THIS DISH CAN EASILY BE MADE VEGAN BY SIMPLY SWAPPING OUT REGULAR BUTTER FOR A NON-DAIRY ALTERNATIVE!
